results for last weeks fourballs and the Presidents Prize
Last Wed saw the Dynamic Duo Fitton and Moore is superb form taking the Gross with 9 under and beating John Ahern and Noel McCarthy on the back nine while Noel and John also lost out to the Mighty Mick Lehane who was partnered by Pat Ryan back playing after a long absence and three shots to the better with 53 points Nett. Sunday Nights fourball was the culmination of the week long Presidents Prize which saw Pat Moore back on the podium with John Ahern for Nett while Mick O’Leary and John Dineen took the Gross. Dave Linehan put up a magnificent Whiskey Decanter Set mounted on a beautiful tray for the Presidents Prize which was won by the Gents Captain Billy Fitton. Billy recently underwent a full battery charge in the Bons which obviously did him the power of good as he is hitting top form of late. Bart Millard consistent as ever took the Overall Gross. Mick O’Leary won the Nett in the grades category with Rick O’Mahony taking the Gross. John Curtin was a popular winner for 2nd Nett while Pat Moore took 2nd Gross beating John Dineen on the back 18. In the Ladies Pat Conway and Val O’Leary were neck and neck but while Val took the Nett Pat Conway was a clear winner for the gross. Gretchen Ahern won 2nd Nett and Mary O’Donovan took home the 2nd Gross. There was a great turnout for the Competition with nearly 120 cards played. As usual the course was in top condition thanks to John Ahern and his merry band. Normal fourball continue next week with the possibility of some players heading to the Junior Ranks while others will be elevated to the Upper Echelons. The Social Club have organised a Bar-B-Que for all Club Members and Friends on the 29th in the Bar with Peter De Forbha in the role of Master of Ceremonies
