Lakewood List docxThe Lakewood Open started this morning, Tuesday 20th June, with a singles Competition which will run until Friday 23rd. The weather is magnificent, blue skies and sun central heating ordered in specially for the bold and the brave who want a super challenge with the Lakewood championship Course in play. The course is immaculate thanks to the hard work of John Ahern, Greenkeeper and Course maintenance expert along with the Captain Billy fitton and his versatile team of John Curtin and John Dineen and sometimes helpers Frank, Paddy, Pat, Mick and the one offs. Pat Twomey has the fairways in first class condition so there is no excuse and for those of you that like a cuppa Pat Conway and her team will provide that and maybe a bikki or two. For the person that likes something stronger the Lakewood Bar will cater for all your needs with prices that wont break the bank.
