Nice to see the bould PJ Curtin back in the winners enclosure having gone through a lean period with a fine score on Wednesday to bag the nett with Micharl Healy who was in super form with his magic putter. Mick Moloney taking a short break from the golf fired up Sheila O’Leary to take the Gross. Saturdays three ball saw Darren O’Leary on his first outing this year bag the nett with Mary O’Donovan and Curtin Senior (John) while Mick Lehane was gifted with the pairing of Gretchen Ahern and Alison Harvey to take the Gross with a respectable 6 under. Sunday the Club Strokeplay brought the members out in force and all were winners with some increasing their chances of getting a shot back while others had to settle for prizes. The standard of play was mixed but there were some very fine scores with Rick O’Mahony the overall gents winner while Valerie O’Leary is the Ladies Champion for 2017 with Gretchen Ahern runner up with a difference of 1 stroke. Darragh O’Herlihy won the +3 to -5 with Darren O’Leary winning the -6 to -14 . Sunday evenings threeball was a quiet affair which again saw John Curtin, John Dineen and Paddy Dennehy take the nett while Pat Moore, Tim Linehan and Frank Riordan went home with the gross. Frank had a socket on the ninth which saw the ball hit the shelter and turn back towards the green landing on the edge, priceless
The course will be open to Competitors for the mixed foursome on Thursday 18th May and up to Lunchtime on the Friday when it will be closed until Saturday Morning for the competition.
Next Club Competition is the John F Murphy Club Leagues Sunday 7th May with a 27 hole threeball at 11.00.
Evening Fourballs have moved to 7 pm until further notice.
