ts official P J Curtin is back to his winning ways taking the Nett on Wednesday with Frank Riordan and the Gross on Sunday with Bart Millard. Mick Moloney and Gretchen Ahern were the Gross winners on the Wednesday. Saturday saw Pat Moore and John Ahern repeating their performance of the previous Sunday to take the Nett while Mick Lehane and Rick O’Mahony were on the podium for the Gross. Listening to John Ahern and Frank Riordan discussing the pros and cons of talking to the ball during flight it reminded me of the film Paint Your Wagon where Clint Eastwood sang I Talk to the Trees but somehow I dont see a song in the horizon.Mick Lehane was back in form again on Sunday Morning taking the Nett with Dan Shine. The Dynamic Duo Fitton and Moore flew around the course on Sunday Evening to take the Gross while the Nett was won by Noel McCarthy and Tim Linehan. Rumour has it that John Curtin took Ben Hogan out of the Boot on Sunday Morning and played his best Scratch Cup to date in Ballineen> Inniscarra are paying their annual return visit on the 9th Aug and the Frank Collins Competition is starting on Thursday 10th with a Singles, two Threeball and two Fourball Competitions. This year its a Gross Prize but there will be a Nett also. The Club Outing is planned for Newmarket at the start of September with an evening meal in the Castle in Macroom to top off the day. Sat navs will be provided by the Chairman in paper format for all who need directions. Normal Fourball over the coming week. Course open to Green Fees. The Social Club provided a super Bar-B-Q on Saturday Night and a great night was had by all who attended. Peter as usual was Master of Ceremonies and Maitre D for the Night while Mick Healy was strutting his stuff behind the bar doing his impersonation of Tom Cruise in Cocktails. The Next Sports and Social Night is planned for the end of August and all affiliated Club Members are more than welcome
