Good weather again this weekend brought out the numbers with some fine combinations and the course in very good shape it was on for a score. Mick O’Leary and Noel Mac were paired together and with Mick playing one of his best rounds they took the gross with 11 under. and 47 points gross. A large number of 47 pointers were in the sorting frame and looking through them I was reminded of Joe Kavs’ words of wisdom, make sure of your threes and the two will come. A number including Me Fein forgot that advice and had fours on the card with no excuses being in pole position for the par but going for the birdie and taking a bogie instead. Rick O’Mahony made sure that Gentleman John has his Christmas Dinner with 8 under and 48 points they were ahead of the posse and took the overall nett. Next week sees the finale of the Voucher Competition and of course it’s the dreaded plus and minus so be prepared. Membership for 2024 open. The Bottle Competition is on the weekend after next and all cuts to handicaps will be restored.
