Wednesday saw newcomer Mark Spillane making his debut partnering Ted Canty and John Ahern in the three ball competition and taking home the nett with 84 and a third. Mark was a former member, playing in the Juvenile Ranks and then took some out. Delighted to see him back playing alongside his brother Robert and parents John and Geraldine. Rick O’Mahony, ably assisted by Frank Riordan and Patricia Conway were the gross winners on 6 under.
Saturday saw another fine crowd and Gentleman John back in action to take second nett with Sheila O’Leary on 48 and a half nett while Frank Riordan and Michael Ryan managed par to take the gross while Billy Fitton was graced with the presence of Josie Twomey and her handicap to take the overall nett with 43.
Sunday morning and the sun continued to shine especially for the winners with Bart Millard and Noel Mac taking second gross with 40 points while Billy Fitton and Catherine O’Keeffe had to settle for second nett on 49 points with Geraldine Spillane and Deirdre O’Sullivan taking the overall nett on 51 Points. Michael Ryan featured with Pat O’Keeffe pipping Bart and Noel on the back nine with 4 gross to take the overall gross.
Lakewood are journeying to Ballyshoneen on Wednesday next for the annual invite by Inniscarra Pitch & Putt Club and those intending to attend are asked to be there for 6.15 to assist the crew on the table make the draw and have everyone on the tee boxes for the shotgun start.
