Frank announced over the weekend that Summer had officially arrived as he was seen on the course sporting his regulation shorts and then demonstrated his ability to deliver the goods by taking the nett with Paddy Dennehy. Paddy stated that with his new handicap that he has to step up to the mark and wont have much time for closer course inspections if he is to feature in the winners enclosure going forward. Noel Mac was in terrific form, reaching to higher levels in recognition of the praises from George Bolton who provided encouragement from the off to take the gross with a health under par. Sunday morning saw Frank back in the winners enclosure this time with the Lady Captain in tow to take the nett along with John Ahern in the threeball competition while John Dineen took gross with Mary O’Donovan and Billy Fitton. Billy was working his magic which he clarified to Gentleman John saying that it was all down to having an early night, John wasn’t sure if it was getting up with the lark or larking around but whatever it worked as he went home with the winnings. PJ finally got his act together after the long dry spell but came good on Sunday evening with Pat Conway as his partner who was up for the score winning the nett while Pat O’Keeffe dovetailed with John Dineen to take the gross. The Club Matchplay is well underway with some interesting combinations going through to the last rounds.
Normal Fourballs continue over the Whit Weekend and ladies .it’s rumoured that John Dineen might be joining Frank in the shorts department.
