Another week to go for the Co Leagues and the team have been practicing hard and making it harder for the social member to win in the fourballs. Wednesday saw the “Bould ” P J Curtin back in form impressive with Frank Riordan winning the gross but it’s hats off to Paddy Dennehy and Mick Lehane with their 13 under and a handicap of 5.5 to take the nett.
Saturday was a day for a threeball competition and again the intermediate team featured with Billy Fitton, John Dineen and the Senior Player Mick Lehane taking the gross with a mighty score of 16 under but it was the girl power of the inform Sheila O’Leary assisted by Josie Twomey who after taking Dan Shine for a tour of the course came home with an impressive 13 under and 20 coming off to Nett in at 75.
Sunday morning saw Mick Lehane back in the winners enclosure with the Super Bart Millard for the gross beating Pat Moore and Billy Fitton but Billy redeemed himself by winning the Nett with Dermot Murphy in the afternoon and treating Pat Moore at the 19th hole. The return of Valerie O’Leary earned Frank Riordan his pocket money for the weekend winning the nett in the morning while Pat Conway took the gross with Rick O’Mahony in the afternoon with 9 under.
