The weekend saw some fine scoring with different combinations over the three fourball competition. A bit like the box of Celebrations with the different wrappers but all going the same way eventually. Alan Kenneally is seen on the course regularly and all the practice is paying off with a double win at the weekend. He was in the winners enclosure for the nett partnering Catherine O’Keeffe with a magnificent score of 11 up and also with Rob Spillane for the gross with 7 under. There were a number of 7 under submitted but with 4 on the back nine and three of those on the back 6 the card was a clear winner. Rob also had 7 under with Pat Conway while his brother Mark had 7 under with Lily O’Leary. Billy Fitton & Paddy Dennehy along with Kevin Crowley and Pat Moore also ran. Kevin and Pat both missed short putts on the 3rd and 15th respectively which cost them the nett and the gross.
Strokeplay next week. Congratulations to the incoming Committee and the newer members and wishing them every success for 2024. Membership for 2024 available, Deepest Sympathies to Phil Allen and the Allen Family on the passing of Vincent. Vincent was a pure Gentleman and a great Ambassador for Pitch & Putt who also managed the notes column for a number of years in the Evening Echo.
