The weekend was a wipeout in terms of competitions with the low turnout on Sunday. The Bottle Competition is usually the most popular but the recent bad spell, cold, frost and rain wasn’t very encouraging. However given the conditions and the final of the world cup also competing about 25 lost souls ventured out. Billy Fitton and Kevin Crowley with a magnificent score of 36 took the overall nett while Alan Kenneally and Noel Mac took the gross with 6 under. Gretchen Aherne and Alan took second nett with 40.5 while John Aherne and Noel Mac took second gross with 5 under. Gentleman John and Pat Moore took 3 rd nett with 41 just marginally ahead of the pack as there were a number of 41.5 netts returned. The presentation of the voucher for the Christmas Competitions took place in the bar with a good turnout from the Members, As usual the ladies rose to the challenge and the nibbles and apple tarts went down well. Overall the Christmas Competitions went very well and with the exception of the lost weekend they were well supported.
