Sunday morning saw a small crowd venturing out and facing the elements with the strong winds and persistent rain. Some would call them Bravehearts while others would say they should be committed. As one who played it was reasonably enjoyable until the final holes when the rain came down heavy but that was the forecast and that’s why we have wet-gear. For some it was a walk in the park and particularly Pat Conway and Eileen Murphy with 7 under and netting with a remarkable score of 39 beating Frank Riordan and Kevin Crowley by half a shot. Pat Conway was the anchor to Noel Mac and Eileen and featured also in the gross pipping Bart Millard and Paddy Dennehy on the back nine to take the gross, Bart and Paddy’s two bogies were the downfall, but Bart had a pep talk with Paddy on the First and they birdied 5 in a row, but the damage was done.
