Last Saturday saw the Club travel to the annual invite fourball to Inniscarra which saw a mixture of very good pitch and putt and some not so good. The afternoon was lovely and sunny and the course was in magnificent shape with some new additions including the tree in front of the triangle on the 10th. With 24 from Lakewood and 17 from Inniscarra there was a good mix and with the large number there were a number of prizes up for grabs. The Inniscarra Ladies put on a lovely spread afterwards so even the non winners went home in a happy mood. Sunday Morning Ted Canty and John Ahern did the business with a great score of 51 pts while Valerie O’Leary gelled well with Bart Millard and took the gross with 5 under. Billy Fitton and Colm Healy took second nett with 49 beating Pat Moore and Mary O’Donovan on the back 6.Sunday evening the Curtin Boys were back in the winners enclosure led by the Team Captain, Betty White beating John Ahern, Pat Moore and Paddy Dennehy by one shot. Normal Fourballs next weekend and the course will be closing to Green Fees for the current year.
