Saturday with the Sun shining and the hot air blowing in from the east and also from the clubhouse it was like being in Binz on the Baltic however the numbers playing didn’t reflect the beautiful sunny day.It didn’t seem to affect Alan Kenneally who encouraged by Catherine O’Keeffe delivered a very respectable 4 under to take the nett with 38 and a half while Pat Moore and Pat Conway shared the Gross prize with 2 under. Alan and Niall performed recently in Rocklodge where they are associate members and submitted excellent cards of 9 and 7 under and subsequently had their playing handicaps cut to reflect their play. Sunday morning was a complete washout but Sunday evening with the odd shower falling saw Alan on this occasion taking the nett with Pat O’Keeffe with a score of 38.5 while Colm Healy won the gross with Gretchen Ahern. Some serious play on Monday Morning with Bart Millard as Anchor to Noel McCarthy and Rick O’Mahony securing overall nett with 10 under with Rick and the gross with Noel on 5 under. Alan partnered Niall and took second nett with 4 under netting at 41 and a half while John Dineen and Val O’Leary were the winners of 2nd Gross with 3 under. Membership is now overdue and new members are always welcome. Course Open to Green Fees but will be closed on Sunday 24th April to allow Members play in the prestigious Club Strokeplay 36 hole competition which was recently deferred.. All cards played must be returned in line with PPI Rules. All Members are asked to support this competition.as it allows an opportunity to adjust handicaps to reflect play.
