On Wednesday Mary O’Donovan’s Birdie on the 16th was the difference between the nett winner on Wednesday last with Mary shooting 37.5 with PJ Curtin while John Curtin came in with 38.5 in the same fourball with PJ anchoring. However, all was not lost as the Curtin boys took the gross allowing a second nett which was scooped up by Paddy Dennehy and Deirdre O’Sullivan.

Saturday with the right numbers present saw a format change with V-Par Stroke the order of the day, something different that was enjoyed by all and in particular Eileen Murphy and Alan Kenneally who took the nett while John Healy and Rick O’Mahony took the gross leaving the second nett to Noel McCarthy and Niall Enright. Great Turnout, the Sun shining, the fairways cut, course changed, first cut in place and the greens in magnificent shape it was perfect for a score.

Sunday morning and both Alison Harvey and Catherine O’Keeffe were in the winner’s enclosure with Alison partnering Alan Kenneally and taking the overall nett with 13 up while Catherine helped Niall Enright take the gross on 7up. Billy Fitton and John Curtin couldn’t agree whether Bogey or Stableford was the order of the day with Billy favoring Bogey while John wanted Stableford which was solved by Pat Moore who tossed a coin. In the end it was Billy who lost out as he was drawn with John and finished 11 up to take second nett. If it had been Stableford they would have taken the overall nett on the back nine but that’s how it goes.
