Wednesday Mary O’Donovan and Tim Murphy won the overall nett with a score of 40 nett while Mick O’Leary and Paddy Dennehy took the gross with 3 under in very tough conditions with second nett going to Pat Conway and Deirdre O’Sullivan on 41 nett.
Saturday Pat Conway was again in the winner’s enclosure along with Ann O’Herlihy and Mary Murphy to take the nett while the three Amigos JP Murphy, PJ Curtin and Billy Fitton were the gross winners with JP and PJ also sharing the pot for the monthly hole in one competition. Sunday evening Pat O’Keeffe and Dermot Murphy had a nett of 41 to win the overall while Noel Mac and John Dineen took the gross.
Sunday morning a large contingent of the membership travelled to The Ranges for the PJ Bell Competition. The competition was very well organised with John Byron and Stephen Enneguess ensuring that play moved smoothly. The Course was in top condition with very fast greens which suited some but the majority found the going difficult. Ann Winning and the rest of the Ladies from the Ranges kept a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and some nice goodies on tap. It was a beautiful day and congratulations to Conor O’Mahony and Eileen Hanley (Ranges)who were the overall winners with a magnificent score of 81 nett while Barry Morrissey Bishopstown) and Sarah McGrath (Fermoy) took the gross with 12 under. Lakewood’s own Darren O’Leary and Ann Herlihy were the winners of the second nett with 85 while Mick O’Leary and Valerie took third nett with 10 under to nett at 89. There was a great turnout with thirty-two teams in total playing
Membership for 2021 now closed , green fees are most welcome , normal fourballs next weekend.
