Wednesday Mary O’Donovan and Paddy Dennehy were the nett winners scoring 52 points with Josie Twomey taking the gross with 41 points partnering Young O’Leary while Mary as anchor was also there for the second nett with Pat O’Keeffe on 51 points saturday afternoon a sizeable crowd saw the high handicappers, Ann O’Herlihy and Catherine O’Keeffe scoring 2 under and taking the nett with 35 nett while Frank Riordain made his debut for 2021 after a shoulder injury and took the gross with Rick O’Mahony with a score of 7 under. Girl Power in the form of Pat Conway and Josie Twomet were the second nett winners on 40 nett. Billy Fitton was very suave on Saturday with his cerise pink shirt and Stetson hat which caused Eileen to remark that there was a touch of John Wayne about him. Gentleman John had a super Birdie to finish his round on the 8th, chipping in from 14 feet while Betty White had a super pitch on the third to get hers.Sunday morning the scores were not as high, partly due to the heat but could be also put down to a late Saturday Night. The nett went to Dermot Murphy, who richly deserved it as he was 6th in Bandon on Friday just outside the prize cut off, partnering John Dineen who hasn’t been to his usual standard of late while Pat Conway gelled well with Bart Millard to take the gross leaving second nett to Catherine O’Keeffe and Alison Harvey who had a score of 47 points.
