Wednesday Night saw the fit and abled Members turning out for the extended 27 hole four ball which saw Alison Harvey and Mary O’Donovan taking the nett with 62 nett while Billy Fitton and Tim Murphy grabbed the gross with 6 under. Saturday Gentleman John Curtin was returned like an outgoing TD triumphantly to the Winners Enclosure with Catherine O’Keeffe and Mary O’Donovan in attendance scoring 1 over to take the nett with 80 with two scores counting on each hole. Gentleman John is definitely coming under the scrutiny of the handicap committee while Catherine and Mary are noted. Billy Fitton was also back in the enclosure taking the gross with John Ahern and P J Curtin with a magnificent score of 18 under. Sunday Morning at the 10.30 fourball Pat Conway and John Dineen did the honours with the overall nett while Mary O’Donovan and Betty White settled for second nett leaving the gross to Rick O’Mahony and Catherine O’Keeffe. Catherine put her winning streak down to a lucky pen that she got from Gentleman John who won it 20 years ago in a lucky bag. A smaller crowd on Sunday evening saw two new Members Deirdre O’Sullivan and Brendan Courtney take the nett with 2 under and 41 nett while Rick O’Mahony was the gross winner with a new partner Gretchen Ahern on a score of 4 under. Sunday 20th is the Remembrance Competition at 10.30 with normal fourballs in between. New Members are always welcome and the course is open for green fees, check the noticeboard for times of play.
