Wednesday saw a good turnout mostly due to the Sun peeping out and threatening to give out a bit of heat. Gentleman John Curtin as anchor impressed the ladies, Betty White and Mary O’Donovan and demonstrated his potential to make the intermediate ranks with his superb performance but unfortunately were beaten on the back nine by John Ahern and Sheila O’Leary for nett and had to settle for the gross with Betty White.Saturday afternoon Darren O’Leary had a cracker of a game and with Josie Twomey as support came in with an impressive 53 points while the two ESB retirees Paddy Dennehy and Noel McCarthy drawn together like two magnets took the gross with 6 under.Due to the bad frost on Sunday morning there was no play but the afternoon saw one of the biggest crowds in a long time showing up for their weekend fix which saw Pat Moore and J P Murphy in the winners enclosure for the nett with 4 under and 41.5 nett while Bart Millard and Betty White took the gross with 3 under. However with the most of the group on the way home a few stragglers led by the Lady Captain, Josie Twomey appeared on the horizon with Josie and Margaret Bowen producing a card with 41 nett and dethroned JP and Pat which goes to prove that nothing should be taken for granted,Membership is due now for 2020 from existing members in order to ensure registration as the next registration wont be until March.
