Wednesday John Ahern and Mary O’Donovan  were blessed with Sheila O’Leary as the anchor as she was looking for the extra spending power for her sojourn to the Sunny Canaries and upped her game to bag the nett and gross with Mary and John respectively. Paddy Dennehy and George Bolton took second nett having lost out to Sheila and Mary on the back three with George’s miss on the 17th costing. John Ahern had a very good weekend as he was in the winners enclosure both Saturday and Sunday morning.  John Dineen was in cracking form on Saturday putting and chipping and with the support of Paddy Dennehy and Pat Moore  took the nett comfortably while PJ Curtin elevated Frank Riordan in the ranking along with John Ahearn to bag the gross. Sunday morning and the Sun was out for the big crowd that showed up which saw John Ahern and Dan Shine the winners of the nett with 52 points while Eileen Murphy and Robert Spillane took the gross with 8 under. Eileen’s hole in one counted as there were a number of cards with seven under returned. Catherine O’Keeffe was heard providing  encouragement to  PJ Curtin resulting in them winning second nett. Rumour has it that Gentleman John has arranged a meeting in the Aras with Michael D to  discuss strategy. Sunday afternoon saw Rick O’Mahony taking the gross with Billy Fitton while Catherine O’Keeffe was back with Noel Mac taking the nett. A little birdie whispered that Rick .celebrated a special birthday last week and was whisked away deep into Kerry for a some wining,  dining and pampering.  Congratulations Rick and welcome to this exclusive club.Normal fourballs next week with the Christmas Competition kicking off on the Bank Holiday weekend starting  with the Hampers.
