September and the afternoons are starting to get shorter and heading into the final quarter of 2019 is the month that sees the fourballs slacking off with reducing numbers, some members catching the rays of sunshine in far off lands while others are lighting the fires and settling down for the long nights but thankfully its only temporary as the Christmas Competitions commencing on the October weekend will provide an incentive to get people out.. Wed saw John Ahearn, Pat Conway and Margaret Bowen taking the nett on 79. Saturday Gentleman John and Paddy Dennehy took the nett with 10 up scoring 7 on the back nine while Pat Conway helped Pat O’Keeffe to take the gross. Pat O’Keeffe was back again on Sunday morning and alongside Bart Millard and John Ahern stepped up on the winners podium to take the gross while PJ Curtin, Val O’Leary and Dan Shine were the nett winners. Eileen Murphy was in terrific form on Saturday with 9 birdies bur the 6 bogies killed the card but bounced back om Sunday afternoon to help John Dineen win the gross while Billy Fitton and Pat Moore were the nett winners. Pat Moore and Noel Mac were the hole in one winners for September/Green Fees will be closing shortly to rest the course over the winter months
