There was a good turnout on Easter Sunday morning considering that it was cold and mucky, one of those days that’s only fit for the bed or a nice warm fire but somebody has to defy the odds and put in a very good score. Noel Mac was in shooting form taking the nett with Dan Shine and the gross with Pat Conway with 40 and 49 respectfully. Val O’Leary took second nett with Paddy Dennehy who is playing very well at the moment, he has that down to the new pair of professional designed shoes that JP tipped him off about. John Ahern and John Dineen were awarded the chocolate bunnies for the marathon round that they put in, rumour has it that Noel Mac was having a cuppa by the fire in Macroom with fruit cake when they emerged in front of the clubhouse. and JP was presented with one for the long stand.
Monday morning saw a group of stalwarts venture out but surprisingly enough the rain stayed away and the air heated up partly due to the pairing of John Ahern and Pat Moore who were dovetailing each other and burned up the course to take the nett while Pat Conway did the business with PJ Curtin to take the gross. Catherine O’Keeffe, exhausted after her bouts of air punching took second nett with Shelia O’Leary and Catherine’s hubby Pat went home also with a bunny taking the second gross with John Dineen on the back nine.
