Wednesday saw the official end of Winter with the fourball moving back to the 3pm slot. Ted Canty and Frank Riordan were in fine form taking the Nett while John Curtin was gifted with Mick Lehane to take the Gross.
Saturday the playing was tough with the full championship course in play but P J Curtin and Margaret Bowen were in the winners enclosure for the Nett with 40.5 while Pat Moore was lucky enough to draw Betty white and take the Gross with 5 under, Sunday mornings three ball was won by Ted Canty, Eileen Murphy and John Curtin while PJ Curtin, Bart Millard and Betty White made a miraculous recovery from 5 over after 3 holes to take the Gross with some fine shooting. JP was playing with Josie and Frank and were playing very steady until JP mentioned in the course of conversation that Lady GaGa had cancelled her European Tour upsetting Frank who was bitterly disappointed to the extent that he was unable to concentrate on his putting. Rumour has it that he was planning to invite her to the Captains Bar B Que. Sunday Afternoon saw the two Pat’s, Pat Conway and Pat Moore taking the Nett on the back nine with 3 under to Nett at 44 while John Dineen and Noel McCarthy won the Gross with 49.
Cards continue on Tuesday Night and don’t forget the Big Fundraiser in March with Jack O’Rourke in the Lakewood Bar.
