The course is in magnificent condition due to the hard work of the grounds team and the volunteers who showed up on Thursday and Friday Nights to spruce the place up. Saturday the appearance of the Sun drew a fair crowd with an even number that resulted in a practice for the upcoming Open. A two ball scramble was the order of the day which saw Alan Kenneally and Tony Burke taking the overall nett with 36 while Michael Ryan and Rick O’Mahony were the gross winners with 8 under. Kevin Crowley and Paddy Dennehy with 5 under took the second nett with 40. Billy Fitton using his motivation skills got the best out of Catherine O’Keeffe on Sunday morning, encouraging her to make best use of her shots and was rewarded with the overall nett on 54 points. Frank Riordan was blessed to draw Mick O’Leary and with 9 under was guaranteed the gross. Billy Fitton was given another opportunity on Sunday evening and grasped the opportunity to take the nett with Pat Conway on 41 while Valerie O’Leary won the gross with Pat O’Keeffe with 3 under. Normal Fourball next weekend but the Captain’s Prizes are scheduled for the week after and a Bar-B-Que is planned to round off the event.
Course open to paying green fees and limited membership is still available.
