Saturday was a beautiful sunny day but the turnout was poor. This is down to the Communion Season which has started in Ballincollig so all the parents and grandparents are otherwise occupied. However Paddy Dennehy and John Dineen were in good form and returned a respectable 49 points to take the overall net while Gretchen Ahern took the gross with Valerie O’Leary with 39points gross. Valerie put it down to the effects of Jet Lag after her recent trip to Abu Dhabi. Sunday morning a much larger crowd saw the O’Keeffe’s both in the prizes, Catherine partnering Kevin Crowley on 4 under took the nett with 37 while hubby Pat was in the winners for the gross with Alan Kenneally with 8 under. Pat Moore and Sheila O’Leary on 5 under took second nett with 40.The course is closed this week to green fees as the Club is hosting the National Matchplay Qualifiers and there is a large entry. Play will commence daily from 6pm and will continue from Monday to Wednesday. However Thursday and Friday are designated as work nights as the Captains Prize is coming soon Limited Membership available
