Saturday and Sunday saw large turnouts with the sun shining and the first sign of heat being all the encouragement that was needed. The course is in recovery after the winter and the rampage from the Crows and Magpies with some assist from the Rabbits. The recent hollow thinning and the reseeding is paying off and hopefully the greens will be fully operational in time for the first club competition. Saturday saw Catherine O’Keeffe and John Dineen returning an excellent 52 points to take the nett while Noel Mac and a browned off Valerie O’Leary took the gross with 43 points. Gentleman John and Paddy Dennehy took second nett with 48 points. Sunday morning Frank Riordan and PJ Curtin with 6 under took the nett on 39.5 while Noel Mac changed partner and with Kevin Crowley took the gross with 4 under. Gentleman John covered his petrol costs for the weekend as he was back in the winners enclosure with Alan Kenneally for second nett with 3 under and 41 nett. Course open to Green Fees, pay before play and abide by the rules as set out on the notice board so that it is a pleasant experience for all. Membership available on request. Fun Fourball over the Easter weekend open to all members of the Social Club, check the notice Board.
Deepest Sympathies to the Hegarty Family on the recent passing of Donie, a Staunch Member of Ballincollig GAA Club and one of the founding members of The Ranges Pitch and Putt Club, Donie was very well liked , a true Gentleman who always had time for a chat or provide a bit of advice, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him, May he Rest in Peace
