Saturday drew a nice crowd even with the light mist that enveloped the course with Michael Ryan and Kevin Crowley partnering to take the overall nett while Betty White once again made sure that Noel Mac covered his petrol costs by helping him take the gross with 7 under. Sunday morning a very large turnout to play in the fun competition that Bart organised. 1973 prices prevailed , 50 cent entry with the winners getting bars of chocolate along with a cash dividend and for the lucky some there were Easter Eggs to take home. While everyone was a winner, Bart had enough prizes for all there were some newcomers seen participating including Peter De Foubert and his bud Ger Meaney, Margaret Burke arrived on her own leaving hubby Tony tucked up in bed. The O’Keeffes were drawn together and went home still talking while Gentleman John forgot to set his clock and was seen legging it across the carpark after making record time from Dublin Hill. The Members were honoured to have the Gents Captain and even Billy Fitton was up early to take to the field. While Tim Murphy was visible there was no sign of Mary and of course the usual suspects were all in attendance led by PJ Curtin for the men and Pat Conway for the Ladies. Rumour has it that Pat Moore is contemplating running more of those competitions with 2023 entry fees and 1973 prizes but it’s doubtful if there would be takers. Normal Fourballs next weekend and New Members are most welcome.
