Saturday the unexpected fine weather brought out a fair crowd considering the final of the Six Nations was on the box and there was a crossover between the finish of the fourball and the start of the match. Paddy Dennehy and Gentleman John Curtin dovetailed well to take the overall nett with 40.5 while the the younger Curtin Boy, PJ delivered for the gross with Pat O’Keeffe scoring a superb 4 under on the back nine and winning the gross with 5 under. Sunday Morning saw a large turnout which saw Mickey Ryan in top form shooting 8 birdies on a challenging course to take the nett with Pat Moore scoring a magnificent 53 points. Pat Moore was the anchor in a three-ball partnering Mickey and also Catherine O’Keeffe and helped Catherine to take 2nd nett with a superb score of 50 points with Catherine in top form putting at time with what seemed like a magnetic ball. Noel Mac was again drawn with Betty White and both kept a clean card to take the gross with 3 under. Third nett went to Paddy Dennehy and Deidre O’Sullivan whose use of her shot on the 18th was the difference between their card and Billy Fitton/John Curtin with both on 48 points and each scoring 24 on the back nine. Membership available and New Members are most welcome, fun fourball on Sunday next at 10.30 with 1973 fees as part of the 50th Celebration.
