Lakewood 20th Feb 2023

What a fabulous weekend, dry and reasonably warm, some great Pitch and Putt and great turnouts. Saturday saw one of the largest turnouts in a long time with a lot of the tee boxes taken up, some great shooting in a three ball scramble which saw a number of  cards with 9 under but Betty White’s team which included Noel Mac and Gentleman John took home the spoils with a super 34 and two thirds nett beating Val O’Leary Team featuring Tim Murphy and Kevin Crowley on the back nine scoring 22 gross as against 23 gross. Val’s team were also pipped for the gross with Mary Murphy’s team also on 9 under with 22 on the back nine and had to settle for the consolation second nett.Sunday morning and another large turnout which saw Va O’Leary, back and determined after a short absence partnering Kevin Crowley  in the winners enclosure winning the nett with 7 under and 37 and a half nett. Pat Moore and Pat O’Keeffe gelled well to take the gross with 4 under which included a hole in one on the 11th and a bogie on the 12th pipping Frank Riordan and Betty White who had 6 birdies but took three bogies to finsih with a gross of 3 under and a 41 nett which gave them second nett. Membership available to all fun loving people who enjoy a bit of craic and don’t take themselves seriously. Forms available in the clubhouse or online

Best wishes to JP and a speedy recovery. Gentleman John was bemoaning the fact his regular physiotherapist was missing and he had to settle for a substitute but a little bird whispered that he was pitching , chipping and putting like a pro on the Wednesday Fourball, Phone details available from John, just fill in the little brown envelope available in the clubhouse.
