The First Official Feb Bank Holiday saw some great weather and some excellent play. A good turnout on Saturday saw Billy Fitton, Noel Mac and Alan Kenneally winning the nett with 10 under and 84.5 nett while Gentleman John Curtin urged on Paddy Dennehy and Pat Moore to perform and were lucky to take the gross with 4 under on the back nine with Paddy stitching the ball on the 18th to finish with a five, two scores out of three to count. Sunday morning again another very good turnout with Gentleman John Curtin and Paddy Dennehy back together and taking the second nett with 11 up while Mick O’Leary and Betty White were the second gross winners. Alan Kenneally was the anchor for John Ahern and Val Baby scoring a massive 12 up with both making it impossible to call but scoring 8 under with Val and 7 under with John took both the nett and gross, Sunday evening a small turnout but never the less Paddy Dennehy bagged his hat trick after taking a five on the first put the head down and birdied the next four while Billy Fitton pulled out all stops and they took the nett pipping Alan Kenneally and Mickey Ryan by half a shot. Bank Holiday Monday saw PJ Curtin taking the Nett with 81 partnered by Val Baby and Catherine O’Keeffe while Noel Mac, Pat O’Keeffe and Mickey Ryan were the gross winners with a massive score of 97.
