A fun weekend darting in and out of the showers, a bit like jazzing hopping from Venue to Venue with the promise of a good pint, some great music and a welcoming fire but for the outdoor enthusiast hunting one of the vouchers for the Christmas competitions the Euryopia when its bagged is hard to describe until one has experienced it. Some great shooting over the weekend but Rick O’Mahony and Alan Kenneally on their first joint outing with a magnificent 12 under and netting at 37 took the overall. The O’Leary’s tried hard not to be drawn together even travelling separately and with a fine gap in the placing somehow found themselves teammates but with a spectacular performance and with 9 under, took the gross. There were a lot of 6 under, some 7 under and even an 8 under but 2nd nett was down to handicap. Pat O’Keeffe was fortunate to draw Margaret Burke and between them keeping a clean card banishing the bogeys to another day with 3 under and 38 nett took the second nett. The AGM will be held on the 11th of November in the Clubhouse, and anyone interested in joining the growing ranks of members can apply after the AGM. Next weekend Stableford is on the card which will suit the high handicappers.
