The only good thing about the rain over the weekend was the fact that the greens and the fairways needed the watering after the dry spell. Saturday Frank Riordan took the nett with Mary O’Donovan with a score of 40 while Rick O’Mahony and Pat Conway were gross winners with four under. Sunday morning Frank was back again and this time with P J Curtin took the nett on the back nine with 50 points beating his partner of Saturday Mary O’Donovan who played with Deirdre O’Sullivan. Bart Millard was back in form who with Tim Linehan took the gross prize while Rick O’Mahony and Mick O’Leary had to settle for second gross with 5 under. Sunday evening Kevin Crowley and Valerie O’Leary were the nett winners with a score of 39 nett while Rick O’Mahony was there for the gross with Billy Fitton on 6 under. Inniscarra are visiting on Wednesday for the annual joint fourball. Last Wednesday the Club ran a Juvenile Competition with a number of prizes up for grabs but Tadgh Hayes took the honours for the Nett while Oisin Desmond was the Gross Winner. Ellie Moore was the lone female amongst the boys but wasn’t deterred and took home second nett for her efforts. Normal fourballs over the weekend and Green Fees are most welcome, it’s nice to see the New Members out playing on the course and getting the practice in
