With the hot Weather and Members at the seaside at home and abroad and for some of us visiting the sand in the bunkers it was a mixed weekend. The hot sun drained the energy from the bodies, that’s my excuse and our pitching was short and at times crooked but there are always some who have their competitive spirit on full alert irrespective of what happens including Mary O’Donovan and Rick O’Mahony who took the nett on Saturday with a score of 42 nett while PJ Curtin and Gretchen Ahern were the gross winners with i under. The course is in great condition with the preparation for the Captains Prize commencing on Thursday which allowed an opportunity to play a three ball competition on Sunday morning with two scores to count which saw Sheila O’Leary, John Curtin and Paddy Dennehy win the nett with 5 under and 86 nett while Bart Millard, Michael Ryan and PJ Curtin took the gross with par. Pat O’Keeffe and Deirdre O’Sullivan invite all club Members to play in the Captains Prize with 2 cards to count. There are a number of additional prizes up for grabs in both Nett and Gross. Commencing Thursday morning and last card on Sunday at 5pm. Presentation of prizes after the 7pm Four Ball in the Bar. The Club have organised a Juvenile Competition for Club Juveniles on Wednesday 20th at 3pm. Looking forward to seeing you on the course. Apologies to Green Fees as the course will be closed on Saturday and Sunday for the competition.
