The Midweek Fourball brought out the best in Darren O’Leary as he was anchoring Pat O’Keeffe and PJ Curtin and took the overall nett with Pat O’Keeffe and the Gross with PJ Curtin. John Ahern took second nett with Patricia Conway. Saturday a fine turnout and with the course on for a score the course experts were paired together for the first time and dovetailed well to have a near perfect round with a slight fall on the twelfth but recovered well and with 10 up took the overall nett. Alan Kenneally and Pat Moore were the gross winners with 6 gross while Mary O’Donovan and Rick O’Mahony pipped Valerie O’Leary and Patricia Conway on the back nine with Rick’s birdie on the 18th making the difference. Sunday morning a very large turnout saw the high handicappers Deirdre O’Sullivan and Tony Burke making full use and with one under and 13.5 coming off returned a magnificent 39.5 to take the overall nett while Betty White and Josie Twomey also with 13.5 coming off were the runners up on 42.5. Paddy Dennehy and Tim Linehan were the gross winners with 3 gross while Bart Millard and John Ahern took second gross with 2 under. Pat Moore and Frank Riordan were seen carrying out extensive course inspections, Frank on the Saturday while Pat Moore was attempting to prune some of the trees on the Sunday morning.
