Its amazing how the same people tend to be drawn together irrespective of the numbers and their place in the queue. Last Wednesday was an example where the course experts, JP and Gentleman John were together again taking the nett with 9 up while Pat Conway motivated Tim Murphy to win the gross with 3 under. Saturday Gentleman John was back again to supplement his pension taking the nett with Margaret Bowen on 41 nett, rumour had it that there was a lot of activity ball searching in the bushes but Margaret nor Mary were giving anything away. John Ahern took the gross with Rick O’Mahony with a score of 5 under. Sunday morning a fair sized crowd showed up for the Remembrance Competition which saw Rick and John Ahern drawn again along with PJ Curtin taking the nett with 87 while John Curtin had a hat trick in the company of Mary O’Donovan and Pat O’Keeffe. Sunday evening the non – related O’Leary’s, Darren and Sheila took the nett with 41, proof positive that the low handicappers can be counted when the pressure is on while John Dineen made sure that Paddy Dennehy was in the Winners Enclosure. Normal Fourballs next weekend, entries for the Cork Strokeplay closing on the 30th, sheet in the Clubhouse. New Members welcome and the course is open to Green Fees.
