Saturday there was a poor showing considering that the Sun was shining on the fairways which encouraged Pat Conway and Ann O’Herlihy to also shine and demonstrate their skills to newcomer Mark Burns by taking the nett with a score of 79.5 while Billy Fitton and JP Murphy encouraged PJ Curtin to up his game standard and took the gross. Sunday Morning a much improved turnout with Catherine” Two Wedges” O’Keeffe calling for Time Out to swap one of her wedges for a putter from the car. The long wait did not deter hubby Pat who took the gross with 6 under partnering JP Murphy while Mick O’Leary also shot a 6 under with Ann O’Herlihy but won the overall Nett with a score of 37. Rick O’Mahony anchored Mary O’Donovan and Margaret Burke took 2nd Nett and 2nd Gross with a score of 40 Nett and 4 under.
Gentleman John was seen taking Mark Burns under his wing and giving advice on putting. Rumour has it that he is considering the Coaching Course next year and putting his name forward for the County Role. Bart Millard was anchoring Dan Shine and Pat Moore and all three were having a bad morning with a lot of near misses while across the other side of the course Eileen Murphy was coming to terms with the pace of the fast greens. Again its all to play for, like Groundhog Day every game gives a change to do the same thing over and over and hopefully with a better result.
