Another week done and dusted and Frank Riordan nearly has the price of his Membership secured for 2021 once again ih the winners enclosure with Rick O’Mahony on Saturday for the Gross and again with Rick on Sunday along with Eileen Murphy taking the gross with 11 under in a three ball that saw some great shooting. Ann O’Herlihy was a good omen to the Curtin Boys taking the nett on Saturday with the Younger Sibling PJ and the nett on Sunday evening with the Elder Lemon Gentleman John. Sunday morning’s three ball was a close result with John Ahern, Margaret Bowen and PJ Curtin taking the nett on the back nine from Sheila O’Leary, Margaret Burke and Pat Moore by a third of a shot and also from JP Murphy, Noel Mac and Ann O’Herlihy. JP ‘s new Pitching Pose similar to the Arabesque in ballet was working a treat but alas his putting wasn’t up to his normal standard. Rumour has it that Frank and PJ were looking at the new ball holders and were discussing the various size cups on offer. Saturday afternoon Val O’Leary and Paddy Dennehy had to settle for 2nd Nett with a very respectable 39.5 which on another day would take the overall but PJ and Ann gelled well to bring in a 34.5. Sunday evening Pat Moore was very lucky to draw John Dineen who gave a demonstration to Billy Fitton of his scoring prowess and when Pat Moore was guaranteed a birdie either chipped in or long putted. Noel Mac was drawn again on Sunday Night with JP and took second nett with some motivation from Ann O’Herlihy. Gentleman John reminded all of the Presidents Prize starting on Thursday the 10th with a self effigy on the window putting on the 18th. The fourball on Sunday Night prior to the presentation is at the earlier time of 6.00 pm. Course is open to Green Fees but will be closed on Saturday and Sunday during the President’s Prize. Members are asked to support the competition and avail of the last opportunity for 2020 and submit cards for handicap adjustment
