Wednesday was such a beautiful evening that there was a great turnout which saw a third nett up for grabs which Billy Fitton and Gretchen Ahern were the beneficiaries. Second Nett went to Frank Riordan and Josie Twomety with Frank alson taking the overall nett with Catherine O’Keeffe while Mary O’Donovan and Rick O’Mahony were the gross winners.Saturday Evening and Metr Eieann got it wrong which was great for us, while there was a threat it ended with a little dribble that wasn’t worth talking about. Catherine O’Keeffe was back in the winners enclosure, rumour has it that she’s practicing in the back garden but whatever herself and Ann O’Herlihy won the nett with 36.5 while Rick O’Mahony was also back for the gross with nine under., this time with Val O’Leary who was again hitting some very high balls that were threatening to puncture the clouds. Darren O’Leary was in fine form and himself and Pat Conway were second nett winners with 8 under and thirty eight nett.
Sunday morning one of the largest crowds turned up for the fourball which saw Bart Millard in fine fettle taking both first and second gross with nine under partnering John Ahern who had the advantage on the back nine from Pat O’Keeffe while Val O’Leary and Gentleman John took the overall nett with 7 under and 36.5 nett, Pat Conway was the 2nd Nett winner with Dan Shine on 40.5 beating JP Murphy and Tim Linehan, who had to settle for third nett, on the back nine. Paddy Dennehy had a near perfect shot on the 13th paying a visit to the 12th but made up with a magnificent chip for a birdie.Ann O’Herlihy hyad a deja vu on the 5th with a performance similar to saturday scoring a birdie with a superb pitch, unfortunately due to a mix up the card was not returned and the results were called before the costly mistake was realised.Rick O’Mahony and John Dineen had a mighty round with 8 under but on this occasion it wasn’t good enough..Again the course is in fantastic condition thanks to the hard work of JP,Murphy Gentleman John, John Ahern, Pat Twomey on the fairway and the Greenkeeper Mick O’Leary who had freshly cut the green and changed some of the holes for a bit of variance.#
Sunday Evening the weekend was rounded off with a Three Ball Competition which saw Darren O’Leary, Ann O’Herlihy and Paddy Dennehy in the winners enclosure with a score of 81 Nett.
August Monday Bank Holiday will feature a 27 hole fourball weather permitting at 10.30.The course is open to Green Fees and all are welcome. Covid Rules in place and all are asked to abide by them.
