Saturday with the high winds and bearing in mind the recent heavy rain the crowd on Saturday was small but very respectable scores were returned especially from Margaret Bowen and John Dineen who took the nett with 41 and from Gretchen Ahern partnered by Paddy Dennehy who took the gross with one under. Sunday morning a very respectable turnout which saw Vivaldi arriving late to entertain the ladies with his version of the four seasons , what started as a lovely spring Morning turned into a miserable freezing session six holes in with the heavy battering of freezing hailstone immediately followed three holes later with a Sunny Sky and the upswing in temperature and  finally the misty rains of Autumn. where else but in Ireland would you get this variation in weather in the space of 2 hours. Bart Millard and Frank Riordan had an excellent round with seven under but with Alan Kelly in form and anchoring Paddy Dennehy and Billy Fitton took the nett with 12 under with Paddy on 36 nett and Paddy scoring five birdies were comfortable winners. Alan and Billy took the gross with nine under while PJ Curtin and Dan Shine had to settle for second nett and the rest went home with happy and not so happy memories. Well done to the Ladies Betty, Eileen, Mary and Margaret who kept going through the wind, rain , hailstone and cold as benefitting their representation on International Women’s Day.
