One could be forgiven for thinking we were on the run in to Christmas with the exceptionally mild weather that we are experiencing, Excluding the heavy rain but as its falling by night its not really effecting us, well not over the past weekend with the fine weather. But the course is very soft and its hard going unless one is on the green and in close proximity to the hole. Sunday morning Betty gave her prediction for the weather and told Catherine to put on the wet gear as it was going to rain heavy but that wasn’t the case and it didn’t do Catherine any harm either as she took the nett with Paddy Dennehy on the back nine. Paddy was in terrific form and anchoring both Catherine and Josie he put in a sterling performance but Catherine’s birdie on the 13th was the difference. Billy Fitton and John Ahern took the gross with 5 under with no competition as there was a large number of 4 under but 5 was a definite decider. Saturday Noel Mac and Mary O’Donovan took the nett with P J Curtin while Frank Riordan and Rick O’Mahony walked away with the gross along with Pat Moore with Rick playing a blinder shooting 4 out of 6 under in a threeball competition with two scores counting. Sunday afternoon Pat O’Keeffe was in the winners enclosure with Gretchen Ahern while Rick O’Mahony and Billy Fitton were the gross winners with Billy back to his mischievous .self that we are all putting down to his new medication.Wednesday Gentleman John and Frank Riordan gelled well and were the nett winners while Betty White was delighted with the appearance of Bart Millard who assisted her in winning the grossClub Membership is coming in nicely but the fine weather players have yet to make an appearance. Gentleman John has plans for the Easter holiday but has to run them before the Committee.Normal Fourballs next weekend weather permitting
