Very quiet on the Homefront this week as Storm Ciara put a stop to the fun and games on the Lakewood Course. However on Wednesday Paddy Dennehy and John Ahearn were getting their practice in while frank Riordan was seen pouting Josie Twomey through her paces getting her ready for bigger and better occasions. Gentleman John was very busy this weekend overseeing the Elections in the Cork North Central so he wasn’t seen on the course but its rumoured that he will be back in action next week. Sunday John Ahern made it third time lucky as there was a game on Sunday afternoon with a nice turnout which saw Margaret Bowen leading PJ Curtin and Paddy Dennehy into the winners enclosure for the nett while Frank, John Ahern and Paddy Dennehy were there for the gross leaving second nett to Josie Twomey, Billy Fitton and Pat Moore. Josie was playing a Blinder but Pat and Billy were struggling with the high winds. There was some interesting discussion at the 19th hole with Bart Millard doing a Ryan Tubridy with the focus ranging from the General election and the state of the parties to the rules and etiquette of Bridge. membership is rolling in nicely with some new members on the books. New Members are always welcome and a warm welcome is assured. Normal Fourballs next weekend weather dependent.
