Wednesday the Club travelled to Kilmichael who were celebrating their 40th Anniversary with an invitation 3 ball scramble. A great night was had by all with a fair distribution of the prizes.
Saturday a sizable crowd showed up for the afternoon fourball which saw the pairing of Noel Mac and Billy Fitton taking the nett with 12up while Ted Canty and Pat Conway were the gross winners. Gentleman John was seen to rise to the occasion on the 4th after Margaret Bowen got a plus and performed exceptionally well for the front nine but fell at the hurdles on the back nine..Billy Fitton was back on Sunday morning for the nett, they say its better to be born lucky and we all know that Billy was christened in luck as he was drawn with Val O’Leary and Betty White who were playing some super pitch and putt, He was also heard ball-hopping Pat Moore on the 11th which spurred Pat Moore on take the gross with P J Curtin and Ted Canty in the morning three-ball.
Sunday evening Mary O’Donovan motivated John Dineen enough to boost his performance and win the nett with 39 leaving the gross to Pat O’Keeffe and Pat Moore who pipped Rick O’Mahony and Gentleman John on the back nine.
Normal fourballs next weekend, Club outing to Fermoy on the 17th . Evening fourballs are moving to 7.00 pm and Inniscarra are coming on Wed 6th, tee off at 6.30.
