Wednesday the low turnout worked well for Gentleman John and J P Murphy who saw off the competition to take the nett. Saturday Gretchen Ahern was the anchor for Billy Fitton and P J Curtin. Billy was playing superb stuff and took the nett with Gretchen leaving the gross to John Dineen and George Bolton. Rumour has it that George will be missing for a few weeks due to the return of Game of Thrones. Catherine O’Keeffe was seen on the course Saturday with a large tray of Ferrero Rocher Chocolates which disappeared very fast. Sunday morning Val O’Leary and Tim Linehan took the nett on the back nine from P J Curtin and Sheila O’Leary who also lost out to Bart Millard and Gentleman John for the gross. Gentleman John scored a birdie on the 14 which was the decider, however Bart’s steady play and determination kept the bogey’s off the card guaranteeing the win having lost a place in the winners enclosure over the past few weeks. Sunday afternoon Billy Fitton again rose to the occasion and took the nett with Frank Riordan while Pat O’Keeffe assisted John Dineen to take the gross. Pat Conway started well but ran out of steam towards the end and put it down to the hectic weekend away.
The first of the club competitions, The Club Strokeplay is next Sunday and open to all members. Prizes in all categories up for grabs. Course is open to Green Fees, Times of play on the notice board, all welcome.
