The old saying March comes in Roaring and goes out like a Lamb is definitely true as the past weekend was absolutely beautiful one could be confused with getting the seasons wrong. Wednesday seems to be a permanent threeball competition with another one last week which saw Paddy Dennehy taking nett along with Sheila O’Leary and Mary O’Donovan while Frank, John Ahern and George Bolton took the gross. Saturday a good turnout with the course in fantastic condition and the greens are coming on with the bulk of the sand nearly washed in and the speed is starting to build. John Dineen and Josie Twomey did the business beating PJ Curtin and Frank Riordan on the back nine while Pat Conway took the gross with Mick O’Leary. Pat was anchoring Mick and Val but on this occasion Mick was the better performer. Mick put it down to the recent Sun break, the early nights and the healthy lifestyle. Eileen Murphy was playing very well considering she was giving out about the ending of the winter rules but still managed a chip in and was so cocky on the eighteenth decided to putt the marker instead of the ball. Sunday morning saw a fair crowd, PJ was missing but Gentleman John said he probably forgot to put the clock forward. Josie Twomey was back in the winners enclosure with Frank Riordan taking the nett with 52 points while Pat Conway urged John Dineen to raise his game and take the gross with 5 under. Sunday afternoon saw Pat Conway completing her hat trick taking the gross with P J Curtin who made it with time to spare while Big Brother John took the nett with George Bolton after sinking 4 birdies in the first nine.
The course is now open to Green Fees
