Smallish crowd on Sat, the Irish Wales Match was a bigger attraction but there was enough to have a decent three ball which saw Paddy Dennehy, JP Murphy and PJ take the nett with an impressive score. Sunday Morning and as luck would have it Pat Moore and P J Curtin were the Paddies that took the Gross with 5 under while Noel Mac was the winner of the nett partnering Dan Shine with a score of 12 up. Sunday afternoon the Sun was shining but again a small turnout probably the result of the St Patrick’s Day Parade and the added attraction of the Blarney Floats to the Ballincollig Parade. However JP & Paddy Dennehy rose to the occasion again taking the nett along with Gentleman John. The topic of conversation in the clubhouse on Sunday between Gentleman John, Billy Fitton and Pat Moore was the origin for the Teddy Bear with Gentleman John stating it was named after Teddy Roosevelt, President of the USA. Rumour has it that Gentleman John is thinking of taking on the Beast in the Chase. Monday morning saw the return of the good weather and a fine turnout resulting in PJ Curtin waltzing Betty White into the winners enclosure with a magnificent score of 38 to take the nett, Tim Linehan in fine form got into his stride when his partner Sheila O’Leary birdied 14 & 15 respectively and they won the gross with 6 under beating Bart and JP on the back nine. Frank Riordan and Pat Conway took second nett with 41.
Normal Fourballs next weekend.
