Another weekend done and dusted and again some fine playing from Noel Mac saw him in the Winners enclosure on Saturday afternoon with Pat Moore for the nett with 7 under netting at 40 and on Sunday morning with P J Curtin taking the nett with 50 points and 9 under.
P J was thinking about investing his winnings in a new motor having sampled the interior of Noel Mac’s new Focus on Saturday. Noel arrived in style on Saturday with the first 191 C reg in the club for 2019 and said that he had to knuckle down and concentrate more on the game to cover the high cost of motoring from Macroom. P J took the gross on Saturday with J P Murphy and helped Noel on the Sunday morning with 6 of the 9 birdies. Bart and Paat Conway were pipped on the back nine for the gross on Sunday Morning by Frank Riordan and John Dineen, In an interview afterwards John said that his game went up a notch after the Motivation talk that he received from Frank after the first hole. Unfortunately it had worn off in the afternoon when John along with Pat Moore and Paddy Dennehy were beaten by Billy Fitton, J P Murphy and Gentleman John Curtin for the nett and had to settle for the gross,
The Club restoration continued last week with Team Eugene, Gentleman John and JP assisted by the Master Craftsman, Billy Fitton transformed the reception area in the club house to a style fitting Dermot Bannon.
Normal Fourballs next weekend with the 2.30 start moving to 3 pm for the foreseeable future. Co Board Quiz is being held in the Lakewood Bar on Friday 8th Feb.
