Who would believe that the Christmas Fayre is in its final week and at the time of going to press it will have finished. A good balance this year which saw the prizes spread around more evenly. Wed saw the team of MacDonovan take the nett with both Noel Mac and Mary O’Donovan backing each other up and finishing ahead of the posse. PJ Curtin definitely has Christmas sorted taking the Gross with Mick Lehane. P J was back in form on Sunday partnering J P Murphy ,who admits himself that he is playing off his right handicap and asked Gretchen to arrange to keep it permanent but that’s not going to happen took the gross with 10 under while Pat Moore finally got his act together and sank the putts to take the nett with George Bolton who made a fine contribution to the nett of 42. Congrats to all who won, it was a great competition with massive support. Betty White got a good send off on Sunday morning and having delegated to her no 2 Mary O’Donovan was left gobsmacked when Mary declared that she was heading for Madrid for a Sun- break. Nice to see Gentleman John back in action and making the best of it. The Club extends its best wishes to John Coleman and hopefully all will be well. Next weekend we have the bottle competition and all handicaps are back to normal.
