Wednesday night saw a sterling performance from Gentleman John Curtin who put in a great effort on the front nine but both Gretchen and himself were bested for the nett on the back nine by Margaret Bowen and Rick O’Mahony who scored a very respectable 41 while Frank Riordan and Pat Conway took the gross with 3 under. Rumour has it that Frank is taking Siobhan on a sun holiday to top up the tan for the forthcoming Captains Night. The going on Saturday was very difficult with the fast greens and the strong wind which was reflected in the poor scoring. However the combination of Paddy Dennehy, Gretchen Ahern and Pat Moore took the nett with 2 under to nett at 99 and John Dineen, Betty White and P J Curtin won the gross with par,
Sunday morning Josie Twomey was in great form anchoring Pat Moore and John Curtin making good use of her shots in Stableford to take the overall nett with Pat Moore netting 50 points and winning on the back nine from Pat Conway and P J Curtin who had to settle for second nett. Billy Fitton and Pat O’Keeffe were beaten for gross on the back 6 by John Dineen and Mary O’Donovan whose hole in one on the 18 was the decider. Sunday evening saw Billy Fitton back to his old form taking the nett with Gretchen Ahern beating Paddy Dennehy and Tim Linehan by a quarter of a shot on the back nine while Pat Conway took the gross ably assisted by P J Curtin
