Paddy Dennehy was the man on Saturday with 5 consecutive birdies on the last 5 holes to take Nett with Billy Fitton with a superb score of 54 points while John Dineen and George Bolton took the Gross with 48. The course was in great condition considering the heavy rainfall on Friday Night where a number of nearby fields were turned into swimming pools. Sunday saw a good turnout for the 11am Fourball which saw P J back in the winners enclosure with Mick Lehane for the Gross as they were beaten for the Nett on the back nine by John Ahern and Big brother John Curtin. The craic was mighty in the Gents Dressing Room where the discussion ranged from kleptomania to anger management and John Dineen was tasked with researching those issues for inclusion in his weekly clinic. P J Curtin was back again in the afternoon to take the Nett with his old sparring partner J P Murphy with a very respectable 38 Nett while Gretchen Ahern and Darren O’Leary took the Gross with 6 under. Congrats to Dave Twomey who celebrated his 30th Birthday over the weekend with Family and Friends and a great night was had in the Bar. . Fourball’s continue at the normal times next weekend but note from the start of Feb the afternoon fourball is going back to the 3pm slot.
