Wednesday last was a washout with the heavy rain and the bitter cold but P J Curtin and big Brother John braved the elements and were fortunate to be drawn with John Ahern and Mary O’Donovan which saw them going home with the Nett and Gross. The weekend saw the return to full handicaps for all and the weekend that was in it, Bottles of fiery liquid saw a very high standard of scoring. The combination of John Ahern and John Curtin were again in the winners enclosure for 3rd Nett with both Johns missing putts on the last hole on the back nine with 40.5 leaving Gretchen Ahern and Mary O”Donovan in pole position to take the 2nd Nett with 39.5. Mick Lehane and Tim Linehan also had 40.5 but they took 2nd Gross with 7 under while Bart Millard making a return debut after a few weeks absence took the overall gross with 8 under on Sunday afternoon with Tim Linehan. The Overall Nett went to P J Curtin and Josie Twomey with a 38.5 Nett. the Christmas programme is on the noticeboard starting with a 4 ball on Sat at 14.30, play each day at 11.00 with the exception of Christmas Day and Captain’s Day on the 30th at 14.00.
