John Dineen is back to winning form taking the Nett on Wednesday with the dashing Mick Healy while the Gross went to Mick Lehane and Ted Canty. Ted is also back in winning form as he was part of the team of three that won the Gross on Saturday along with Noel McCarthy and George the Motivator Bolton who will praise you no matter how bad you’re playing.
The Intermediate Team took the points in a closely fought game in the County Leagues against Rocklodge on Sunday in very good conditions at Raffeen Creek. The deciding factor was the fourballs with Lakewood claiming two of the three. Both teams gave a great display of pitch and putt but Mick O’Leary and Billy Fitton were at their peak in the fourballs and the singles while PJ Curtin and Frank Riordan gave a superb account of themselves in the fourball and Rick O’Mahony came good in the singles. Sunday Evening John Dineen after his leisurely lunch in Raffeen Creek was back in the Winners enclosure with Noreen Fagan while Paddy Dennehy upped his game to senior level to take the gross with Josie Twomey. Normal Fourballs next week and the Leagues continue with Lakewood playing Collins in the ESB Club while Rocklodge are playing Douglas in Lakewood.
